MrSpeakers is Now Dan Clark Audio
A message from Dan Clark
When I started MrSpeakers in the late 1990s, it was to do loudspeaker design as a consultant. When I introduced MrSpeakers as a headphone brand, MrHeadphones was taken, and I have to admit I was a bit lazy and just went with what I owned, not really expecting it to take off like it did.
Now seven years later, MrSpeakers was showing its limits as a brand. First, people never spell it right, it's Mr. Speakers, or Mister Speakers more often than not. And second, we don't make speakers, something people enjoy reminding me of all the time! Third, for marketing geeks, the brand MrSpeakers gives us permission to make headphones, but our intention isn't to stop there and we needed a brand that will better support product line extensions.
So we decided the time had come to revise our brand. We considered 'coined' names, acronyms, or using some kind of tasty fruit as a brand, but all of these are staring at brand equity of "0." On the other hand, for better or worse, many people in the headphone community clearly associate me as the MrSpeakers my name has brand equity. So being a practical engineer at heart, I decided to go with the brand strategy that would give us a faster and more effective transition given our resources.
So on behalf of the whole team, I'd like to introduce you to the future of MrSpeakers, Dan Clark Audio!
Thanks so much for your support. We look forward to providing you with all sorts of new and interesting products over the next couple of years.
